Brahms Violin Sonata in D minor op. 108

Eberl, a serious rival off Beethoven in Vienna until his early death in 1807, composed seven splendid violin sonatas that richly merit revival. The first of Tchaikowsky’s three pieces, written for his patroness Nadia von Meck, was originally intended as the slow movement of his Violin Concerto.

The third and last of Brahms’s three violin sonatas is a work of powerful energy and intensity.

Friends of University Art and Music is a principle supporter of the University Concert Series. This recital of music for violin and piano given by Clive and Miaoyin will raise funds to support FUAM’s work.
