Elizabeth Hardman
Masters in Music Performance, graduated 2020
Elizabeth is an early-career lyric soprano, having completed Master’s-level study with two commendations for vocal performance. Upcoming performances include cover Mistress Page and soprano in Vaughan-Williams Sir John in Love at Opera Holland Park, and ‘Liebestod’ and Sea Symphony with Leeds Symphony Orchestra. Previous roles include Flora (Dove’s The Enchanted Pig), Semele (Handel’s Semele), Rosalinde (Strauss’ Die Fledermaus), Mrs Grose (Britten’s Turn of the Screw), Saffi (Strauss’ Der Zigeunerbaron), Kay (King’s The Snow Queen), Melia (Mozart’s Apollo et Hyacinthus), Cunegonde/Paquette (Bernstein’s Candide), and Dido (Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas) with Leeds Youth Opera, King’s Opera and University of Leeds Opera.
During lockdown, Elizabeth was a Europe Semi-Finalist Winner in the International Music Grand Prix and a participant of the Serena Fenwick Programme out of the National Opera Studio. During the programme, she received tutelage from industry experts such as Sir Mark Elder, Nadine Benjamin, and Nicholas Kraemer, and performed in opera scenes as Marguerite (Gounod’s Faust) and Nerone (Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea). Other opera scene roles include Cendrillon (Massenet’s Cendrillon), Giulietta (Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi), and Frasquita (Bizet’s Carmen). As well as an alumna of British Youth Opera, Elizabeth completed study at King’s College London (2015 – 2018) and the University of Leeds (2019 – 2020).
