Vivaldi - Gloria
Calling all lovers of singing! Here's your opportunity to perform in the chorus of Vivaldi's Gloria accompanied by period instrument ensemble, Leeds Baroque! All singers are welcome to attend this community music event.
Rehearsals and the performance will be led by University of Leeds Associate Professor of Music, Clive McClelland. Clive is a specialist in choral music, both as a director and performer. At Leeds University, he has directed various choral projects, and as chorus master of Leeds Baroque has been involved in performances of large-scale masterpieces by Bach, Handel, Purcell and Mozart among others, and a host of smaller-scale chamber concerts. He has also run small vocal ensembles dedicated to early music, involving performance from partbook facsimiles and including period pronunciation of the texts.
Tickets to participate in this event must be booked in advance, and include a copy of the score.
Schedule 10:00am - 12:30pm: Chorus rehearsal
break for lunch (not provided)
1:30pm - 3:00pm: Rehearsal with soloists and instrumental ensemble
4:00pm: Performance (approximately 40 minutes)
