This concert presents a cross-section of recently composed music for solo tuba, alongside three works from great composers of the late twentieth century. Book-ended by Luigi Nono's eerily beautiful piece for tuba and live electronics and Vinko Globokar's wonderfully satirical Juriritubaïoka featuring guest pianist Bofan Ma, this programme also features recently composed works from Yorkshire composer Sophie Pope and University of Manchester doctoral student Patrick Friel, as well as brand new pieces from University of Leeds students that have been workshopped earlier in the week.
