Maurice Ravel - Violin Sonata no 2 in G Major, M77
Praised for his “...refined playing and melodious and intense tone…” (ANSA), prizewinning Italian violinist Matteo Cimatti has featured alongside several European orchestras and at numerous festivals. An accomplished soloist and enthusiastic chamber player, he was selected to join the roster of the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) at the YCAT Live Final Auditions at Wigmore Hall in May 2025.
Highlights from the 25/26 season include debuts at Wigmore Hall and Frankfurt Alte Oper as well recitals at Cambridge Summer Music, St George’s Bristol and concerto appearances with the London Firebird and Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestras. He also performed at festivals including Heidelberger Fruhling, Beethovenfest Bonn, Musikdorf Ernen Kammermusik and Bendigo Festival in Australia.
2026/27 continues apace for Matteo, with returns to Frankfurt Alte Oper, Wigmore Hall and Beethovenfest Bonn alongside debuts at Berlin Philharmonie and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, as well as concerto appearances with Plymouth Symphony Orchestra and the Opera North Youth Orchestra performing the Mendelssohn and Bruch Concertos respectively.
A graduate of the Juilliard School, the British pianist Nicola Eimer has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe, America and Asia. She was a prize winner at the Dudley, John Lill and the Royal Overseas League competitions, and was also a featured performer on the Tillett Trust Young Artists Platform, leading to recitals and concerto performances across the UK.
Nicola has performed at St. Martin-in-the Fields, St John's Smith Square, the Barbican and Wigmore Hall, and has played at the Purcell Room for the Kirckman Concert Society and the Park Lane Group. She has made regular appearances for the London Chopin Society since first performing in their gala at Wigmore Hall in 1997.
