Giacomo Baldelli (Electric Guitar)
Italian guitarist Giacomo Baldelli, outstanding soloist and member of the internationally acclaimed Icarus Ensemble, has spent the last 10 years working on a brand new repertoire for guitar – both classical and electric. Focussing on scores written after 2000, he's been collecting new works by young composers. This activity led to the publication of a CD called Chitarra Italiana del XXI Secolo (21st Century Italian Guitar) which includes, among other things, the first Italian recording of Trash TV Trance by Fausto Romitelli.
Romitelli’s work inspired Baldelli to produce a concert dedicated specifically to the electric guitar, trying to write a new literature for this instrument. This new repertoire includes pieces by worldwide known composers such as Romitelli, Murail, Wolff, but also young composers such as Andrea Agostini, Maurizio Ferrari, Marcello Messina and many others.
