School of Music Choir and Orchestra directed by Christopher Pelly

Philip Wilby’s career at the University of Leeds, initially as Lecturer and ultimately Professor and Head of Composition, spanned more than four decades, during which time hundreds of aspiring professional musicians excelled under his supervision. Whilst his wider influence as a composer is greatest in the Brass Band world, Wilby has also made substantial contributions to English sacred choral music.

To mark the year of his 70th birthday, the School of Music choir and orchestra present Wilby’s highly acclaimed completion of Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor, K.427.
