LSTwo Strings

A selection of contemporary pieces for string ensemble, including the world premieres of Canadian composer Taylor Brook’s Ptolemy’s Observations, and Scott Mc Laughlin’s Threads of the Social; both written especially for LSTwo Strings ensemble. This concert is a the outcome of collaborative research on contemporary tuning practice, between violinist Mira Benjamin (Nu Nord, Quatuor Bozzini, Apartment House), the composers, and the ensemble. The practice at the heart of this project applies to the performance of all repertoire for strings.
