Ornamental or Influential? Celebrating the emancipation of women composers in the 200th anniversary year of Clara Schumann's birth.

Ruth Funnell (violin) Alexandra Mackenzie (cello) Kathryn Mosley (piano)

Fanny Mendelssohn (1805 - 1847) - Fantasy in G minor for cello and piano
Fanny Mendelssohn - Capriccio in A flat for cello and piano
Fanny Mendelssohn - Adagio for violin and piano
Clara Schumann (1819 - 1896) - Piano Trio in G minor op 17

Ruth Funnell, Alexandra Mackenzie, and Kathryn Mosley have worked together for a number of years, performing all over the UK. 2019 is the 200th anniversary year of the birth of Clara Schumann. The three female performers welcome the opportunity to give voice to two female composers – Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn, whom history remembers largely by association, but as these chamber works show, deserve musical recognition in their own right.
