In September of 2015 Heejae Kim was awarded second prize at the world renowned Leeds International Piano Competition. She was also awarded the prestigious Terrence-Judd Hallé Orchestra prize by Sir Mark Elder for her performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4.

Heejae Kim’s thoughtful and stylish rendition of Beethoven’s Piano Concert No.4 was clearly an audience favourite. She particularly shone in the second and third movements and will definitely be a name to watch.

Heejae Kim graduated from Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig, Germany in 2013, having studied under Gerald Fauth. Heejae Kim has attracted enthusiastic attention to her musicality through a number of recitals performed in Leipzig, Seoul, Paris and Brussels. Her interpretation of Brahms’ Third Piano Sonata has received critical acclaim. Her performances  of Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven and Bach have also won over many audiences.

Heejae Kim was awarded 2nd Prize at the UNISA International Piano Competition in South Africa in February 2012 and one year later, she was awarded third prize at the International Piano Competition in San Marino Italy.

Heejae Kim will perform a number of concerts in the UK during the 2016 / 2017 season including at the Bury St Edmunds Festival and dates with the Hallé under the baton of Sir Mark Elder.
