Leeds Baroque Choir and Orchestra directed by Peter Holman with George Kennaway and Claudia Chapman (cellos)
This concert celebrates the work of arguably two of the most popular composers of the Italian Baroque – Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Antonio Vivaldi. The programme will include Vivaldi’s popular “Gloria”, written for the girls of the Pio Ospedale della Pietà, his Concerto for two cellos and features the first performance of a new edition by Andrew Woolley of Pergolesi’s grand Mass in F major for double choir and orchestra.
Note: We regret that soloist Sarah Potter is indisposed – her roles will be taken by members of Leeds Baroque Choir.
