Ensemble Performance - Early Chamber Music

Date
Date
Friday 8 March 2019, 6.00pm - 8.00pm

Student singers have been exploring English Renaissance sacred music and madrigals, and have practised using facsimile editions of partbooks as well as modern editions. This allows them scope to deal with unusual clefs, solmisation, tuning systems, controlling vibrato, period pronunciation and other historically-informed practices. Instrumentalists have been working on Baroque chamber music, using both early and modern instruments, exploring the differences in approach that have to be considered.
